Play to Win games!

A special feature of FlaMinGoCon the First will be a special type of raffle called Play To Win. We will have 4 games in our library -- RoboRally, Resistance, Jungle Speed and Night of the Grand Octopus -- available to win. How it works is: 1. You play the game. 2. If you like it, you and anyone else who played it can write your names and contact info on a slip of paper to go in a corresponding jar. 3. At the end of the con, that exact game that was played will be given to one of the people who entered. You do not need to be present to win, but you do have to leave  contact information. Basically: Try it before you (maybe) win it! You enter for all four games by playing all four of these games, but you can only enter once for each game.

More clarity on directions to this weekend’s con

The address of the church is 211 Trinity Place. Following your GPS to this address WILL get you to Holy Trinity, but the opposite side of the building from the entrance we are using. The entrance for the parish hall is facing Tanglewood, which is the street that runs between the church and the tall white towers (Trump Plaza). If you don't see the parking lot -- keep going around the church. You are looking for this: You can find it from Flagler or from Tanglewood, which runs between Flagler and Olive. 1794523_827153184014055_2562975886918999195_n We will have signs guiding you as well.

Directions to Flamingocon the First

Google map directions to location of 10 hour gaming day in downtown West Palm Beach! Between that pink building and the two white Trump Plaza towers. Downtown-West-Palm-Beach-Intracoastal If you see this church below while on Flagler Blvd, you are in the right place! (Yes, our event is at a church, but FlaMinGoCon is a secular event and everyone is welcome. This church is just nice enough to rent us a nice sized hall with plenty of parking.) 1912220_662370857158956_2036211304_n Following GPS to the address, 211 Trinity Place, will get you on the SOUTH side of the church. The entrance you are looking for is on the NORTH side of the church --   facing a small street called Tanglewood. If you don't see a big parking lot with a big tree... keep going around the church. In the back is the entrance to the parish hall. Look for the red awning behind this tree. 1794523_827153184014055_2562975886918999195_n

FlaMinGoCon The First: Lesser Known and New Games

One fun thing about game conventions is getting to play more              obscure games you can't find at the book store or national toy store chain. We have game creators trying out new games and avid game owners wanting to find new players to try out their favorite               little-known game. FlaMinGoCon is small, but you can still have some of this experience on January 24. Three more games you will be seeing are Microvore, Super Dungeon Explore and Conjure, along with folks who will teach you how to play!

Tournament News for FlamingoCon 1

Expect a tournament for RoboRally at FlamingoCon on Jan 24.

We will teach the game in the morning to give newcomers a chance to learn this silly, crazy, frustrating and awesome game. In this game you program robots to zip around to flags on a factory floor, dodging lasers, maneuvering over conveyor belts and gears, and adding modifications.

Then in the afternoon, three games of 4 players will be played, and then 3 winners will move onto a final round.

We expect to plan one other tournament, still to be determined.

In January, we will post a calendar for demos including for Castles of Mad King Ludwig, Splendor, Camel Up, and more!
